I Will Never Give Up!

Hello everyone out there, my name is Ms. Kilpatrick and I live in Mesa, Arizona. I moved to this state about twenty-five years ago when my family was small with just my husband and a couple of children. I am originally from the beautiful Salt Lake City valley in Utah. It is still one of my favorite places to vacation!

From the first moment I could remember I have always wanted to be a teacher. I began my post high school studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. After a year and a half in pursuit of my education I was married and I decided I wanted children. Although my family grew to be very large, I never gave up on my goal to be a teacher. I decided that it would have to wait until my children (all eleven) were grown before I would finish my degree. Now that my children are mostly matured I have made my comeback to education. I enjoy so much being back in school and all of the wonderful days I get to spend with the children as an intern.

Children bring so much to my life and from them I have learned more about life than I could from anyone. One of the first places I was able to help and work with children was while I was doing my service learning at the Thomas J. Pappas school in Phoenix, Arizona. There were so many different children from so many different backgrounds and cultures. The diversity throughout the classes brought a unique and wonderful learning environment to each and every class. I am so glad that I was and am able to share these wonderful experiences with the wonderful youth of Arizona.
